Problem: | How to change the daily multiplier when exporting to P3 with a daily planning unit. |
Problem: | Durations are incorrect when exporting to P3 with a Daily Planning Unit. |
Cause: | CAUSE 1: In Project Management, durations are always stored in hours, even if you are displaying in days. By default, when exporting in days from Project Management to P3, the durations are divided by 8. |
Cause: | CAUSE 2: If Drive Activity Dates is turned on for the resource assignment, P3 will recalculate the activity duration based on the Units divided by the Units/Time. Normally, this is not a problem, however, if the Activity Duration is high enough and the Units are low enough, then it will cause the Units/Time to drop to a very low number and will need to be rounded to the nearest 1/100th when exporting in Days. This discrepancy will cause the duration to recalculate in P3, even though the duration looks fine in Project Management. |
Fix: | FIX 1: Change the Daily Multiplier in the prmconvert.ini file to match the hours per day in Admin, Admin Preferences on the Time Periods tab.
For more settings, review the following: Solution prim29524 Advanced Conversion Options in the prmconvert.ini for P3 to Primavera 5.0. |
Fix: | FIX 2: Turn off Drive Activity Dates, by adding the column “Drive Activity Dates” to the Resources tab in the Activity Details section of the Activities View, and removing the checkmark from the box.
