Problem: | Is it possible to change the letter “A” in the Start/Finish Date column to another character, or remove it altogether through a checkbox similar to the ‘Show Unit Label’ or ‘Show Duration Label’ on the Time Units tab in User Preferences? |
Fact: | The letter A currently appears in the Start and Finish columns next to the date when there is an actual start/finish on an activity. It alerts a user that an actual has been applied. |
Fact: | When selecting data and copying to Excel, the data is pasted as displayed. The same is true for running a report and generating a CSV file. In this form, Actual Dates cannot be used in calculations. Grouping Levels are maintained through indentation of text in Excel however, so the reporting tool or copy/paste is suitable when presentation is more important than data manipulation. |
Fact: | When exporting to data to Excel, the dates are exported without the A. In this form, the data can be used in calculations. Grouping levels are lost, however, as the data is exported in de-normalized form. Export is more suitable when data manipulation is more important than presentation. |
Fix: | The ability to suppress the A from the Actual Dates is is an existing Enhancement Request. It will be considered for a future release. |
Fix: | The ability to apply the groupings in the layout when exporting to Excel is an existing Enhancement Request. It will be considered for a future release. |
