| Problem: | How to make critical bars display as red. |
| Problem: | Activities with zero days of Total Float are not displayed as Critical / red. |
| Problem: | Activities with Total Float of “0″ don’t show as Critical. |
| Cause: | Cause 1: The Critical Activity definition is incorrect. Cause 2: Total Float may have been a fraction of a day which was rounded up to 0. Cause 3: Project Management draws the Bars in the order they are listed. If the non-Critical Bar definition is below the Critial Bar definition, it will overwrite the Critical color. |
| Fix: | Fix 1: Go to Tools, Schedule, Advanced and confirm that Critical is defined based on Total float. Also check the Critical Threshold Value. Project Manager checks this Value against Total Float to decide if the Activity is Critical or not.

| Fix: | Fix 2: Go to Edit, User Preferences, Time Units tab and change the Duration Format to display Hours with 2 decimals.
Go to the Dates tab and choose to Show time.
Go back to Activities view (Project, Activities) and bring up the following columns: Remaining Duration
First look for any Remaining Duration entries that include extra Hours or fractions of Days. Delete the extra Hours.
Now look at the Start and Finish times for the Activities. If you find that there are Activities ending in the middle of the day, please read the following article for a series of troubleshooting steps to rectify the situation: Solution ID: prim17039 ”Finish dates are not correct based on duration.” |
| Fix: | Fix 3: Go to View, Bars and confirm that the Critical Bar definition is below the non-Critical Bar definition.
