Problem: | How to show a resource’s non-work time on the Resource usage profile/spreadsheet |
Fix: | If a resource on an activity has non-work time defined in it’s calendar (as Burt does in the example below), the resource usage spreadsheet will show the hours for that resource spread evenly over the duration of the activity, regardless of it’s calendar non-work time. To avoid this, split the resource’s assignment on the activity by assigning the resource twice with the appropriate durations and using lag to hold the split work-time in place as demonstrated below:
Note that Burt has been assigned to the activity twice. On the first instance he’s set to work only 6 days. On the second, he’s set to work four days with a lag of 11 days to account for the non-work time in his calendar. His start and finish dates now tally with his calendar’s non work time as he starts on 28th January, works until 4th February then starts again on 14th February and works on the activity until 17th February. |
