| Problem: | Why are the resource dates different from the activity dates? |
| Problem: | Resource is showing usage after the activity is finished |
| Problem: | Resource is showing usage after the project finish |
| Problem: | Resource is extending for a long period of time |
| Problem: | Resource is showing usage for many years |
| Cause: | There are multiple driving resources on the activity and the resource assignment is not the longest duration of the driving resources. See solution prim25341 - ”Which resource’s dates are used when an activity has several driving resources?” for more information. |
| Cause: | The Resource is Non Driving. A Non Driving resource allows the activity and resource to calculate their own dates based on their own durations. |
| Cause: | The activity finished ahead of schedule, so the planned dates are much later than the actual dates |
| Fix: | Check the resource and activity durations to verify that they are different and this will show why their dates are different. Or manually change the resource dates to match the activity dates. You can manually change the duration of the resource to reflect the activity’s duration then the dates will be the same, however, this can effect your costs which may be calculating on this duration. |
