In Windows’ Regional Settings, change the decimal symbol to a dot (full stop or period) and the grouping symbol to a comma.

In Windows 2000, this can be achieved as follows:

1. Start, Settings, Control Panel


2. Double click Regional Options


3. Switch to the Numbers tab


4. Change “Decimal symbol” to “.”


5. Change “Digit grouping symbol” to “,”


6. Click OK

In Windows XP, this can be achieved as follows:

1. Start, Control Panel


2. Double click Regional and Language Options


3. On the Regional Options tab, click “Customize”


4. Change “Decimal symbol” to “.”
